Columbus Public Health (Prevention Program Manager)

Responsible for effectively implementing evidence based therapeutic prevention programs that are funded at over $900,000 annually. Provided leadership and guidance to a team of thirteen while directing twelve alcohol, drug, and HIV prevention programs, including The Somali and Latino Immigrant Women’s Program, as well as a support piece to Mayor Coleman’s violence reduction program, Application Purpose, Pride Success (APPS).

Successful creation of the only GLBTQ treatment group in Ohio.


Spirit of Public Health Award

The Spirit of Public Health Award honors exceptional Columbus Public Health staff members who have shown that spirit of public health through their work or volunteers efforts.

Columbus public health (prevention coordinator)

Provided individual and group counseling, treatment planning, and case management to clients diagnosed as being substance dependent.

Recruited and facilitated groups assisting children of alcoholics and addicts using evidence based curriculum.

Established and maintained relationships with educators focusing on collaboration to better meet needs of children served.

Facilitated staff training on mandated reporting, working with children of alcoholics and addicts, and trauma informed care.

Clintonville Resource Center (Case Manager)

Provided counseling and referral services for families affecting by homelessness as a result of substance abuse.

Facilitated the transition into re-parenting for consumers providing care for children who are not, biologically, their own while assisting them in obtaining public benefits.

Creation, implementation, and facilitation of monthly kinship support group and subsequent grant.

Care Star/ODJFS (Case Manager)

Case Management of consumers with high level of care (multiple diagnosis-alcohol & drug, mental health, & medical) of the Ohio Homecare Program Waiver.

Created and facilitated staff training for providing comprehensive and high quality case management to consumers diagnosed with substance abuse and mental health issues.

Columbus Health Department (Disease Intervention Specialist)

Conducted Pre and Post STI/D test counseling. Educated consumers on proper sexual health and awareness. Provided counseling and referrals to encourage reduction on high risk behaviors as impacted by substance use and mental health.

Provided referrals for community resources. Conducted CDC data collection and maintenance of records.

OSU Harding Hospital (Intern)

Conducted assessments of mental and behavioral health to determine level of care and resulting treatment plan. Collaborated with care team for development and implementation of treatment plans. Developed Care Plans and Discharge instructions.

Conducted group psycho-therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and diagnosis education sessions. Provided counseling and referrals for patients diagnosed with substance and eating disorders.
